DPC Symposium

The Dropout Prevention Coalition in collaboration with the Watson College of Education Outreach Alliance will host a Roundtable event:

Stopping the School to Prison Pipeline: 
New Approaches to Supporting Student Well-being

December 11, 2014 1-4 pm
Watson College of Education Room 162 
Open to the Public: Free Event!

Representatives from area school districts, law enforcement, community members and other interested individuals are invited to attend.

Keynote: Chief District Court Justice J. H. Corpening II 
Topic: Plugging the Pipeline: Inter-Agency Collaboration in New Hanover County 
New Hanover County has been working for over 2 years to implement a highly successful program developed in Georgia.

Additional presenters will be discussing successful programs including: Interagency Agreements, Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems, Bullying Prevention, Preventing School Violence and School Based Mental Health Intervention Programs.

After short presentations, the speakers will be available for you to meet with to have in-depth discussions in a roundtable format. There will be time for you to meet with more than one of the presenters. If you have any questions please contact Dr. Janna Robertson at robertsonj@uncw.edu.
