WCE Alumni Honored as Rising Leaders

Two Watson College of Education graduates have been honored as 40 Under Forty rising leaders by The Fayetteville Observer.  Donald Rush and Maria Jo Adams were among the business professionals and community leaders recognized at the fourth annual 40 Under Forty formal gala held in their honor on March 28. Honorees included individuals from Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore, Robeson, Sampson or Scotland counties.

Rush is a first grade teacher at Dublin Primary School in Bladen County. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education (’11) and a Master of Education in elementary education (’13).  Rush is currently enrolled in the Master of School Administration and English as a Second Language add-on licensure programs at the college.

Adams is a kindergarten teacher at Alma Easom Elementary School in Cumberland County. She graduated from the Watson College with a Master of Education in elementary education in December 2013.
