Extreme Science Workshop for Middle Grades Science Teachers – Week of June 23

UNCW’s Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CESTEM), in partnership with WCE Associate Professor Amy Taylor and Brunswick County Master Teacher Daniel Richardson, will offer an Extreme Science workshop in June. The workshop will emphasize strategies to connect the Essential Standards for grades 6-8 with topics such as types of scale, measurement, estimation and models of scale, powers of ten, limits to size, surface area to volume relationships and behaviors at different scales.
The workshop will be held June 23-June 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Watson College of Education on UNCW’s campus.
Registration for up to 20 middle grades science teachers is open through June 11. There is a $40 non-refundable fee.
