Annual STEM Expo participantUNCW to Host STEM Expo in April; Volunteers Are Needed

On Saturday, April 5, UNCW will host the second annual STEM Expo, in partnership with the N.C. Science Festival. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and this year’s theme is “expanding” - just like the universe is expanding (a known scientific fact). The event, which is free and open to the public, features interactive exhibits operated by UNCW students and faculty.

Sue Kezios, director of youth programs, was pleased to receive a $750 sponsorship donation from the N.C. Science Festival this year to help with the purchase of small supplies for exhibit activities coordinated by UNCW students.

“The STEM Expo was very successful last year,” said Kezios. “It’s a great opportunity for our campus to interact with the community and to showcase how our faculty, staff and students are engaged in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.”

UNCW’s CESTEM is working with Youth Programs to plan the event. If you would like to help with the STEM Expo, please see the surveyhttp://appserv01.uncw.edu/selectsurveynet/TakeSurvey.aspx?PageNumber=1&SurveyID=96319772&Preview=true
