The New Public, a provocative documentary due to be released on January 1st.  Jyllian Gunter is a writer, producer and director. She recently won an Emmy for her work on a PBS Educational PSA series.  The documentary has been viewed by faculty at UNC- Ashville, UNC Chapel Hill and East Carolina University.

Overview: An ambitious group of educators create a small, public high school in an underserved neighborhood of  Brooklyn, New York.  When their idealistic vision is confronted with some harsh realities faced by the community, they struggle to adapt.
