ITS Maintenance Scheduled for September 8 – 11: Banner to new infrastructure, wifi management upgrades

ITS has worked with departments across campus to plan for the September 2017 Maintenance Weekend, which will begin on Friday, September 8 at 5:30 p.m. and conclude by Monday, September 11 at 8:00 a.m. UNCW email and Blackboard Learn will remain available over the maintenance weekend. Banner/Hawkeye, SeaNet and some features in mySeaport will be unavailable during this time while Banner is moved to new infrastructure. Below is a partial list of unavailable applications with a complete list of affected applications available at uncw.edu/itsd/help/bannerupgrade.html.

During this time, the core infrastructure used to manage our wireless network will be upgraded to newer and more robust hardware. Beginning Friday, September 8 at 11:00 p.m., academic and support buildings will experience between twenty to forty minutes of wireless downtime (one building at a time with no impact to wired connections); the same process will begin at 4:00 a.m. for residence halls. Our goal is to complete this process by no later than noon on Saturday, September 9.
