Since 1947, the University of North Carolina Wilmington has been recognized via a variety of symbols and designs as well as words, phrases and letters that identify the university and symbolize its mission, values and traditions.
To protect ownership of its intellectual property, UNCW has developed policies and procedures regarding the use of its name and marks.
UNCW’s Brand Identity Guide (BIG) details branding-related guidelines and tips for faculty and staff to help maximize the effectiveness of university messaging at every turn. These guidelines apply to all printed and electronic materials that represent the university to its constituents, both internally and externally.
Permission from UNCW licensing is required when using or reproducing the university's name or marks for merchandise or other commercial use.
Logo usage by UNCW departments on printed and electronic materials must be reviewed by the UNCW Office of University Relations.
