I am a first time user. How do I get started?
Install the plug-in that matches your operating system. Then open up your internet browser and go to tealware.uncw.edu. Log in with your UNCW e-mail credentials and start using the software.
How can I tell if the plug-in is already installed on this computer?
Go to tealware.uncw.edu. Log in with your e-mail credentials. Click on any of the software and if it launches, the plug-in is already installed. If this window appears, you do not have the plug-in installed. Simply close that window and install the correct plug-in.
Does TealWare work on both Windows and Mac?
Yes, you can use TealWare on both a Mac and a PC. You just need to install the plug-in.
Can I print when I use software on TealWare?
Yes, use your locally installed printer or iPrint.
What is the best way to SAVE when I use TealWare?
We recommend saving to your Timmy or Sammy file folder or you can save to a USB drive.

NOTE: When off campus, accessing files on your local computer or USB drive may be very slow due to your Internet service provider (ISP) speed restrictions. For the best results, it is recommended to use Sammy or Timmy for your TealWare files.
OUTLOOK - If I use Outlook on TealWare, is it okay to set up archiving?
NO, if you set up archiving while using Outlook on TealWare, your messages would be deleted.
How can I change the software list view in TealWare?
The 'Tree' view is the default for the software list. To change this, click the down arrow next to "select view" and change your preference. You will find this drop down menu in the top, right-hand corner of your screen.
Can I use software on TealWare from on or off campus?
Yes, all you need is an internet connection, an active UNCW e-mail and the plug-in.
When off-campus, do I first need to connect to VPN before accessing TealWare?
No, a VPN connection is not necessary to use TealWare.
Will my TealWare session time out during periods of inactivity?
The main login page where you select your applications will issue a time out after 20-minutes of inactivity. This will not affect applications that were selected prior to the time out, since they will continue to operate under their own rules.
Can I make a request for software to be hosted on TealWare?
Yes, UNCW faculty and staff can make requests.
Who can use TealWare?
All faculty, staff and students with an active UNCW e-mail.
Why do I not have access to all of the software on TealWare?
When TealWare requests are made the license agreement terms must be reviewed for accessibility. In some cases there are restrictions and only the license owners (or groups) can legally be allowed access for these software packages.
