Healthy Computing Habits

When you practice healthy computing habits you greatly reduce the risk of your computer contracting viruses and malware. Please assist us in our efforts to protect your sensitive information by practicing the following healthy habits:
- Avoid clicking on banner advertisements while browsing the Internet.
- Keep your computer up to date with the latest security and antivirus updates, and routinely scan your computer for viruses, malware and system vulnerabilities.
- Use complex passwords and pass phrases; change them frequently.
- Don't "Cyber Typecast" yourself by using the same user name for all of your accounts.
- Avoid putting too much personal information on social networking sites.
- Avoid becoming a victim of social engineering/phishing attacks. If it looks "Phishy," delete it.
- Avoid loading your computers with Peer to Peer (P2P) file sharing applications. Remember that there is no such thing as FREE copyrighted materials such as music, videos, games, etc.
- Always make wise computing decisions. When in doubt, don't do it.
