The Office of International Programs is pleased to announce the establishment of a new award. The Global Citizenship Award honors the contributions of faculty or staff who use their teaching, research, and/or service to foster an environment of global engagement at UNCW.
Global Citizen Grants for Faculty
Faculty International Travel Grants
The UNCW Office of International Programs provides grants to support academic travel by faculty. This travel includes, but is not limited to, on-site research, presenting research at a conference, and doing a site visit for possible study abroad. Grant applications should be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to intended. Applications are reviewed by the International Programs Advisory Committee and awards are granted on a quarterly basis.
Fulbright Opportunities for Faculty
The Office of International Programs encourages faculty to explore the international research and teaching opportunities offered by the Fulbright Program. As stated on Fulbright website, the program is designed to “increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.” Nearly 300,000 participants have benefitted from this opportunity. International Emergency Contact Form
In order to ensure that the university can contact you in case of emergency, all students, faculty, administrators, and staff who are engaged in international professional travel funded by the university or involving members of the UNCW community must complete and submit an International Emergency Contact Form (IECF).*
An IECF must be completed, approved, signed, and be delivered to the Office of International Programs one week prior to travel.
An IECFmust be approved and signed by the department chair or unit head, dean or director, and assistant provost of international programs
*International includes any area outside the 50 US states or Territories.
International Programs Advisory Committee
The primary function of the International Programs Advisory Committee is to advise, influence and endorse policies, procedures and strategic plans pertaining to the activities of the Office of International Programs and strategic goals of internationalization of UNCW. International Professor Exchange
International Professor Exchange (http://www.uncw.edu/ipe) is a cooperative effort to provide a Web site where professors with similar teaching/research positions interested in a teaching/research exchange can list and find each other. Through IPE professors and lecturers may arrange for short term or longer term job exchanges between universities around the world.
