The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) School of Nursing (SON) in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) invites applications for a full-time Simulation Learning Center Coordinator. The School of Nursing (SON) offers CCNE accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Nursing and a non-nursing Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Research. Located in southeastern North Carolina within minutes of the Atlantic Ocean, UNC Wilmington is one of 17 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina. RESPONSIBILITIES: A full-time, eleven-month appointment for a Simulation Learning Center Coordinator is available in Nursing to support the school’s scholarly, professional, and academic initiatives. Responsibilities include providing oversight of the operational, educational, and research activities that support the Simulation Learning Center. These duties include but are not limited to managing a laboratory annual budget, organizing and oversight of the laboratory inventory and supplies, facilitating replacements or purchases of supplies and equipment, maintaining laboratory policies and procedures, facilitating tours of the center, participation in planning and implementing of community initiatives, facilitating faculty development in simulation learning, cooperating in simulation integration across the curricula, evaluation of the Center’s use and operation, annual evaluation of Simulation Learning Center staff, Chair the Simulation Learning Committee, and develop annual reports. The Coordinator functions within a team environment and collaborates with faculty and students in all programs to support simulation across the curricula.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a master’s degree in nursing is required. The successful applicant must be a registered nurse with a minimum of three years in clinical practice, preparation in teaching and learning principles and eligible for North Carolina licensure. Knowledge of and experience in the field of nursing simulation.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
