The University of North Carolina, Wilmington, is recruiting for a Development Officer for Leadership Annual Gifts. The successful candidate will function as a member of a team of development and advancement professionals and a member of the University Advancement staff to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective donors in the leadership category (which is defined as gifts between $1,000 and $25,000) as well as manage the annual giving clubs.
Located in southeastern North Carolina within minutes of the Atlantic Ocean, UNC Wilmington is one of 17 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina. Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the Development Officer for Leadership Annual Gifts is to manage certain segments and/or a portfolio of donor prospects with the goal of upgrading or initiating annual gifts. Solicitations will be multi-channel including but not limited to phone calls, mail, emails and some personal visits. The Development Officer will also be responsible for managing the annual giving clubs to include developing and implementing a marketing plan, solicitation strategies, and stewardship efforts to increase the level of annual gifts.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelors’ degree is required as well as broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising and ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle. A minimum of two years of professional fundraising experience in a higher education environment and experience in sales, marketing or communications are preferred qualifications.
Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is between $44,000 and $46,000
