Mission Statement
The Graduate Liberal Studies Student Association (GLSSA) shall serve as the association representing all Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) and GLS post-Master's students at University of North Carolina Wilmington. The purpose of the organization shall be to encourage, recognize, and assist all GLS students academically and socially, as well as to promote the interests and welfare of GLS students within the university.

Welcome Letter!
Hi GLS! Happy 2013! Hope everyone's year and semester is getting off to a great start! Just a couple reminders aboutwhat's coming up!
January 15th is our spring welcome meeting at 6pm in Bear Hall!We are teaming up with Palaver as well! Come for snacks andsee what GLSSA is all about!
Elections for next years officers will be held in February or March so if interested, reach out! Involvement is not excessive and it looks great on your CV or resume! The only requirement is that you be a GLS student and willing to attend monthly meetings! Feel free to email me if you have any questions on involvement or would like some more information!
How to apply for grants:
In order to apply for a grant from GLSSA, you must compose a letter stating what the funds will be used for specifically (travel expenses? research? supplies? etc.). Send this letter to GLSSA@uncw.edu and cc Caitlin Ward and Joel Finsel (cgw6677@uncw.edu and joelfinsel@gmail.com). This letter and the required form (see link below) must be submitted at least one month prior to date for which funds are needed and the following requirements must be met: Student must attend 1 GLSSA meetings prior to applying, the reques letter must be approved by GLSSA executive board, and the student must have first applied through GSA.
