GGY 328: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The course covers concepts and issues of data structures, data management, spatial analysis, and display of geographic information in a computer-based environment. Instruction is provided through lectures, demonstrations, and computer lab exercises using ArcGIS 9.2.

Students enrolled in GGY 328 and 592 need to login to Blackboard to access course materials:
- Go to http://ncvista.blackboard.com
- Click on UNC Wilmington
- Click on LOG IN
- Type your username in lowercase letters. It is the same as your UNCW email username WITHOUT “@uncw.edu”.
- Your password is your SEANET password. This is a 6-digit password usually defaulted to your birthdate.
Password issues can usually be resolved by using the online User ID and PIN Retrieval form from SeaNet. https://appserv02.uncw.edu/dasapps/getid/ - Once in Blackboard, you will see a list of courses, click on the course link to access the materials for the combined GGY 328 and GGY 592 course.
