Ariana Mrak teaches courses in Spanish language and linguistics. Her areas of research are Heritage Language Education and Sociolinguistics. She specializes in the Spanish of the U.S. and is particularly interested in the teaching of Spanish to bilingual students. She studies the power struggle of the Spanish-speaking populations in the U.S. to retain and validate their variety of the language.
