Eligibility Requirements 2 year Active Duty (AD) + 4 years Reserves; 3 years AD, or 2 years AD Must have a Compensable Service connected disability which causes demonstrable employment handicap. (Usually 20% or more)
Cutoff Dates 10 years after discharge from AD or 10 years from last day on which individual became eligible for Educational Assistance. 12 years from last separation from AD or from the date service connection is established
Tutorial Assistance Yes--$100/month up to $1200 Yes
Rates and Entitlement Approximately $985/month--full time. DOD may add supplements of approximately $400/month for extended AD service and approximately $300/month for persons w/specialties in which there are critical shortages. Maximum 36 months. Approximately $448/month--full time, single veteran. Additional amounts added for dependents. Maximum 48 months. +2 months subsistence allowance authorized after completion of program.
Miscellaneous: Must possess HS diploma or equivalent. Vet must have honorable discharge and have deducted $100/month from AD pay for 12 months. Chapter 34 recipients qualify under this chapter as well. Counseling, job placement and post employment services for up to 18 additional months. VA will pay for special support services as needed to include unique transportation expenses.

Eligibility Requirements Served on AD at least 181 continuous days and enlisted for the first time between 1/1/77 and 6/30/85 inclusive and signed up prior to 4/1/87 Served on AD at least 182 continuous days any part of which occurred inclusive between 2/1/55 to 12/31/76. Delayed entry also if service began in 1977.
Cutoff Dates 10 years from date of last separation from AD (Exceptions--call VA) 10 years from date of last separation or 1/1/90. (Exceptions--call VA)

Eligibility Requirements Surviving spouse and/or child of a veteran with service connected disability or service connected death or died of any cause while rated "PT" service connected. Enlisted: Enlisted, reenlisted for 6 year period after 6/30/85. Officer: Added 6 years to current obligation after 6-30-85.
Cutoff Dates Spouse: 10 years from "PT" service connected rating or death. Child: By 26th birthday or 8 years from date of eligibility established. 10 years from date of first eligibility or day after separation from the Selected Reserve.

Miscellaneous: Not to exceed 31st birthday. Child is not eligible prior to 18 years old unless has passed the age of compulsory education and is not in a program to obtain a HS diploma.
