Financial Assistance Information

Continuing & Professional Education wants to ensure that any interested applicants have all the resources they need for financial assistance should they wish to register for our programs, but do not have the necessary funds.

Below are the various options available. Please note that as the courses offered by Continuing & Professional Education are not for academic credit, financial aid through UNCW is not provided.

Sallie Mae (R) Career Training Smart Option Student Load (R)

Choosing the Career Training Smart Option Student Loan offers various financial and educational benefits, including competitive interest rates, a choice of repayment options, and rewards for paying your loan on time while in school. Plus, you can borrow up to 100% of your school-certified cost of attendance (minimum $1,000).

Workforce Investment Act

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is a federal program that gives workers the chance to learn the skills and information needed to compete in the new economy. Contact the JobLink Career Center to discuss all of the requirement for applying for a WIA grant. More information can be found by visiting:

Check with your bank about options available. Many offer funds for continuing education and professional development in addition to traditional undergraduate and graduate student loans.
