MSA Program Requirements

The UNCW Master of School Administration program is offered and designed to prepare educators for educational leadership roles. The program consists of 36 semester hours and is designed for both full or part-time study. See below for the full-time vs part-time options.

Full-Time Option

*Program Coordinator must approve elective. Recommend EDL 523, Research in Education, to fulfill the 3 credit hour elective requirement for students interested in applying for the Doctoral Program in Leadership and Administration.

Students interested in completing an Optional Thesis register for a total of 6 thesis credit hours beginning with 3 credit hours in the second semester of Year One for full-time students and 3 credit hours in the second semester of Year Two for part-time. Three of the 6 thesis credit hours will fulfill the 3 hour elective requirement.
