Courses are offered in three formats:
On campus classes typically meet every other Monday night, or on days and times that are announced in advance. Check the latest Course Schedule for dates, times, and locations. Additional meetings might be required, based on each instructor’s determination. Additional classes may meet face-to-face or via WebEx or other virtual methods. Students are expected to attend all classes scheduled.
UNCW and WCE have two distance campuses where a limited number of classes are offered. There are no UNCW or WCE administrative offices or personnel on site at these locations. Students may need to come to campus, either physical or virtually to take classes they need for their program. Please check the Course Schedule each semester to determine what classes are offered in each location.
Sandhills- Classes are typically offered one Saturday each month, face-to-face, for a limited number of classes in the program at Turlington School in Raeford, NC. Instructors may require additional class meetings face-to-face or via a virtual method. Students are expected to attend all required classes.

Online Course Delivery:
All classes have an online component regardless of where they meet or how often they meet. Students are expected to have technology available to support the use of WebEx and other virtual meeting software that might be used for coursework. Although some courses are identified as online, all courses have synchronous meetings between instructor and student. Students are expected to participate fully in all synchronous meetings.
Most courses offered during the Summer Sessions are only offered online. Please check the Course Schedule each semester to determine the delivery mode of the course.
WebEx is a virtual course delivery platform UNCW uses to deliver synchronous class meetings. Students who do not live near any of the campus above or cannot access the courses they need at their closest location can elect to participate in courses via WebEx. Students are expected to contact the instructor ahead of time and make arrangements to join the class using WebEx.
At a minimum, students enrolled in any courses or programs in the Department of Educational Leadership are expected to have adequate technology to support online delivery of courses. This includes, but is not limited to, high-speed Internet access, a computer that has the capacity to download software and documents, a head-set, microphone, camera, and speakers, as well as, the use of software for document preparation, such as WORD.
If you have questions about technology, please contact the UNCW Technology Assistance Center: mailto:TAC@uncw.edu.
