2011 Physical Education Lifetime Service Award

Dr. John Bennett
Professor
School of Health and Applied Human Sciences
College of Health and Human Services

Congratulations to Dr. John Bennett for being selected a 2011 Physical Education Lifetime Service Award winner by the Physical Education Association of the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He was nominated by his colleague, a former student, Dr. Steve Elliott. In addition, John was recently selected by The North Carolina Association for the Advancement of Health Education (NCAAHE) of the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance as the 2011 Linda Harrill Rudisill Lifetime Achievement Award recipent.

Both of these awards reflect significant contributions to physical education through teaching, professional involvement, leadership, and advocacy. His numerous contributions to both the state, regional and national units of AAHPERD over the years, including his service as national president, and the many honors he has received from professional organizations and UNCW for service and teaching excellence attest to his commitment to his professionalism and his students. John will be honored at the annual NCAAHPERD Convention in November for both of these Prestigious Lifetime awards.
