Dia de Bienvenida 2013
On behalf of the Hispanic/Latino Faculty, Staff and Students of UNCW, we invite you to attend our Día de Bienvenida (Day of Welcoming) on August 18th. We are committed to Hispanic/Latino leadership and to the success of our future professionals. As such, you will have a chance to meet and be guided by our Successful Latinos, including student leaders, parents, faculty, and administrators. We will cover issues affecting our Hispanic/Latino population, including suggestions for developing our languages, culture, and identity as part of our professional planning.
There is no cost to attend. Here is the agenda for the day:
Día de Bienvenida - August 18th in the Education Building (EB 162).
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Successful Latinos Mini-sessions
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Family Luncheon
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Raise Your Flag. Student social (Sharky’s Game Room- Fisher Student Center)We will have available parking at the Parking Deck in front of the Education Building where we will begin our Día de Bienvenida. A campus map can be found at www.uncw.edu/map. Our volunteers will be in front of the Education Building (Reynolds Drive) to hand you a parking pass as you drive through the front of the building.
Please note that our Día de Bienvenida is not a duplication of New Student Orientation. If you are scheduled for orientation on the same date, please be sure to attend orientation. We will have Día de Bienvenida materials available for you to pick from Centro Hispano or download from our website.
