Study Abroad Ambassador, member of the Exercise Science Student organization, part of the MI CASA program as a mentor, but now I am completing my internship as the MI CASA Wellness peer Educator, the president of UNCW’s Women’s Rugby club, and a part of Crossway Student Ministry

Where do you work?
I work at the Student Recreation Center as a Recreation Assistant.

What do you consider to be your top 3 accomplishments?
1. I started playing Rugby with the Women’s Rugby Club my sophomore year with no previous experience. By joining the team I fell in love with the sport and created wonderful memories with some amazing teammates. Last year I became President of the club.
2. I was selected as 1 of the 13 students to study abroad for research to Greece and Italy. This was the first time my department sent students abroad. I was honored to represent my department and the university.
3. I’ve always enjoyed working with the community, especially the Hispanic Community. I had the opportunity to be a part of Centro Hispano and MI CASA. I wanted to give back to the community by educating them about issues related to health. I then created the MI CASA Wellness Peer Educator program and now I am making a difference in the Hispanic community.

What’s after college?
I was accepted to the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Life University in Georgia. I plan to attend there and continue my studies.

Dream job?
When I finish my studies, my goal is to own my own Chiropractic clinic and still continue to help the Hispanic community. I want to continue to travel the world and learn about various cultures. I hope to continue to be happy and grow in my faith.

Any advice to the Latino generation rising at UNCW?
“My advice is to never give up and make every moment count. Trust in yourself and do your best. Life is a beautiful gift, so embrace every moment. Life is not easy and there will be obstacles. You must have perseverance and have confidence in your abilities. In life nothing is impossible, if you dream it you can achieve it! Follow your heart and believe in the power of your dreams. Embrace every opportunity because the sky is the limit.“
