What are your top 3 accomplishments?

1. The fact that I am graduating. I have been going to school since I was four years old and after a really long time, it's hard to believe this moment has arrived.

2. Discovering that I am a great photographer. It was something I rarely did, and I certainly did not consider that had a talent for it. Chris and Centro Hispano were the the first ones to noticed it and gave me a job. From that point I discovered skills that I didn't know I had.

3. Learning how to dance salsa and bachata. It took me a very long time to learn compared to others, but it has made me very confident. I have met many new people by learning to dance and having courage to perform on stage.

What's after college?
I still have to figure some things out, but I hope to continue on towards Graduate school. Until then I want to look for opportunities to gain different experiences and skills. I really want to travel to different places and explore.

Dream job?
My dream job is to work for the UN with Global Health. I have learned through my major what situations many places in the world go though, but they are problems that can be easily solved. Coming from an Afghan family and learning about my country, I believe a person’s regular or daily needs, like water, shouldn't be something they have to struggle for or denied. Knowing what a difference it will make to countries, I want to work with the UN to make that difference.

Any advice to the generation rising at UNCW?
Take advantage of all the opportunities you will have. Talk and socialize with as many people as you can, and use all your resources. Try new things, because you never know what you are good at and miss the chance to talk to some amazing and life changing people. This is the time when so many doors are available and moments of self discovery.
