Relationship Violence and Sexual Assault Response Team (RV-SART)

University of North Carolina Wilmington, in consultation with Wilmington agencies and constituents, has developed a coordinated response to campus violence. The mission of the Relationship Violence & Sexual Assault Response Team (RV-SART) is to extend a healing and supportive attitude and coordinated response to individuals affected by interpersonal violence and the UNCW community as a whole by making the needs of victims/survivors a priority issue by providing comprehensive, timely, culturally sensitive and compassionate care.

The RV-SART is co-chaired by CARE's Director and Lead Victim Advocate.

Violence Prevention Collaborative

The purpose of this committee is to assist in reducing interpersonal violence at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) through collective campus programming.  This is a new committee that will be charged with assisting in changing the UNCW campus culture.  The purpose of this group is outlined below:

  • Work collaboratively against interpersonal violence on the UNCW campus.
  • Assist in disseminating vital information from the VIP committee to campus departments and colleagues.
  • Develop protocols and practices to effectively implement IPV prevention initiatives through the campus community.
  • Function as a steering committee on campus wide IPV programming initiatives.
