Smart Meeting Rooms

The technology in the Fisher Student Center and Fisher University Union meeting rooms is now easier to use, enhances collaboration, and enables users to bring almost any device.  Use the shortcuts to the right to navigate the guide below for instructions on how to operate the system, connect devices, and utilize the collaboration features.

Turning on and off the system

Meeting Room start panel
  • Locate the touch panel mounted on the wall.
  • Press the central button. This will begin the power on procedures for the system.
Meeting Room keypad
  • Enter the 4 digit login code provided to you from your reservation email and press enter.
Main page select input
  • Select your projector input. 
    • Wall Plate allows you to connect an HDMI or VGA (15 pin) cable from your device to the jacks located on the wall.
    • When using the VGA connection, be sure to also plug in the headphone/audio cable if you need sound.
    • ShareLink allows for you to wirelessly connect a laptop, mobile, or tablet device.  Please follow the instructions below if you would like to use the ShareLink.
    • Please note that Sharelink only supports video of up to 32 frames per second.  If you need to play a video as part of your presentation, it is advised that you use a cable and connect to the wall.
  • Adjust your device audio using the Program Volume buttons located on the panel.
Confirm Shutdown
  • To shut down the system press the Shutdown button from on the wall touch panel.
  • Press Power Down to confirm shutdown. 

Connecting laptops to the Sharelink

  • Follow the steps above to turn on the system.
  • Select ShareLink from the projector input menu.
  • Follow the on screen prompts to connect your device wirelessly.

  • Enter the IP Address into your browser window.
  • Remember the code in the lower right hand corner.  You will need that to log in.

  • Select the button appropriate for your device.  
  • Once the download completes, open up the attachment.  Mac users will also need to download the audio driver that appears in order to share audio.

  • Enter the code from the first ShareLink screen and your name.
  • Press connect.
Share my screen
  • Once connected press the play button to share your screen.
  • You can use the drop down menu to share to the full screen, or pick a quadrant and collaborate with up to 4 devices.
  • Press the stop button to stop sharing your screen.
  • Use the Menu button on the lower right side to share to multiple rooms or disconnect from the ShareLink.
  • Use the Program Volume button on the wall touch panel to adjust the room audio.
  • Please close your browser and shutdown the room from the wall touch panel when finished. 

Connecting an Android device to the ShareLink

  • Follow the steps above to turn on the system and select the ShareLink input.
  • Make sure to have the free MirrorOp Sender for Galaxy or MirrorOp for Extron ShareLink app installed on your device.  This can be found in your device's app store.
Android connect
  • Open the MirrorOp app on your device.
  • To open the menu, select the menu icon in the lower right corner. 
  • Select Connect manually.
Android login
  • Enter the IP Address found in the lower left corner of the projector screen.
  • Enter your name.
  • Enter the Login code found in the lower right corner of the projector screen.
  • Press connect.
Android share menu
  • To share your screen press the Play icon. 
  • To collaborate with up to 4 devices, select one of the split options to share your screen in one quadrant of the projector screen.
  • To leave the MirrorOp app and view your screen while sharing, press the Home icon.
  • Use the Program Volume buttons on the wall touch panel to adjust audio volume.
  • Press the Stop icon to stop sharing your screen.  
  • Please close the MirrorOp app and shut down the room from the wall touch panel when finished.

Connecting an Apple device to the ShareLink

ShareLink Splash
  • Follow the steps above to turn on the system and select the ShareLink input.
  • Make sure to have the free MirrorOp Sender or MirrorOp for Extron ShareLink app installed on your device.  This can be found in your device's app store.
Apple Connect
  • Open the MirrorOp app on your device.
  • Press the router icon at the very top right of the screen.
  • Select Manual input.
  • Enter the IP Address found in the lower left corner of the projector screen.
  • Enter your name.
  • Enter the Login code found in the lower right corner of the projector screen.
  • Press connect.
Apple Main Page
  • Select what source you would like to share on the projector screen.
Apple Collaborate screen
  • After selecting the item you want to share, press the play icon at the top of the screen to share on the projector screen.
  • To change from full screen to a collaboration screen press the square icon next to the play icon then select which quadrant you would like to use.
  • Press the Stop icon to stop sharing your screen.  
  • Please close the MirrorOp app and shut down the room from the wall touch panel when finished.

Common Problems

  • "There is no image on the projector"
    1. If the system is off, turn it on.
    2. Try the "Video Mute" or "Picture Mute" button located on the wall touch panel.  
    3. If you plugged in a cable, please ensure it is secure.
    4. Ensure the source you are trying to use is powered on and in presentation mode.
    5. Try switching to a different source and back to the one you wish to use.
  • "There is no sound coming through the room speakers"
    1. Try the "Audio Mute" button.
    2. Turn the volume up using the buttons on the panel.
    3. Ensure that the device volume is not muted and turned up. For PCs, lower right next to the clock. For Macs, upper right next to the clock.
  • "The video quality is poor"
    1. If you are connected wirelessly via Sharelink, connect your source directly to the wall using either an HDMI or VGA cable.
    2. Download the video directly to your device and then proceed with playback.
  • "I cannot connect to Hawkwifi"
    1. Call TAC at 910-962-HELP (4357)
