RE: Burglary Attempts
Two attempted burglaries occurred on the UNCW campus in the early morning hours of October 25 – one through an unlocked window on the first floor of Belk Hall and another at Einstein’s Bros. Bagels in the Fisher Student Center.
At this time, it is not known if the two burglaries are related. One suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s to early-30s, approximately 6’ tall with blond hair.
If you have seen this suspect or have any information about either attempted burglary, contact UNCW Police at 910-962-2222. Information may be given anonymously by calling 910.962.TIPS or online at www.uncw.edu/police.
In an emergency, call 911 from any phone, or use the emergency call boxes on campus.
UNCW Police would also like to remind the campus community of these basic safety tips:
- Always lock the door to your house, apartment, room, or vehicle no matter how long you plan to be away.
- Lock windows in residences and offices, especially in first floor locations.
- When you leave a campus building having automatically locking doors, make sure the door shuts completely so the lock is engaged before walking away.
