RE: Motor Vehicle Theft
On Monday January 22, 2007 at approximately 5:00pm a motor
vehicle was reported stolen from the 600 block of Union Drive.
The owner left the vehicle unsecured and engine running while utilizing
an ATM machine on the eastern side of the Warwick Center.
The owner stated that he was at the machine for only a few
moments, when he realized that someone was driving away in
his vehicle. The vehicle is described as a tan in color 2003
Ford F150 with North Carolina registration plate RSR-2201.
Community members are reminded of the concerns for leaving
a running motor vehicle unattended. As well as being unsafe,
it is also against North Carolina state law.
Anyone with information concerning the theft can make notification
to police via phone 962-2222, anonymously at 962-TIPS (8477)
or by email www.uncw.edu/police, or by activating the nearest
call box.
