Stage Dimensions:

Draperies & Masking:

  • Grand Drape, red velour. Line set one, on traveler track. Can be drawn or flown
  • Mid-stage traveler, black velour, line set 11, on traveler track. Can be drawn or flown
  • Rear traveler, black velour, line set 20, on traveler track. Can be drawn or flown
  • All other curtains are black velour legs (6' x 20' (2m x 6.5m))
  • All soft goods are flame-resistant
  • Sky drop (pale blue) is hung on line set 19
  • Fire Curtain (asbestos front drop) has manual operating lines on stage right, emergency line-cut releases on both sides, as well as temperature-activated releases in the grid

Dressing Rooms:

  • Four (4) dressing rooms, all stage left. Two on stage level, two on second level
  • Each dressing room has toilet, sink, shower, incandescent lighting, make-up mirrors
  • Make-up counters and clothing racks accommodate seven (7) per room

Lighting System:

  • Power source is located DR, approximately 10' (3m) from proscenium arch. Company Connection/Road Show Power availability is two-200amp VAC fused disconnect switches, 3-phase 120/208 volt, 4-wire fed from one 400amp breaker. This power supply can be used in addition to or separately from stage lighting system. Camlock connectors are permentantly installed to each panel and are available for use by the renter.
  • Control board, ETC Element 60/500, located in the rear of the balcony
  • Dimmers available are located in 2 ETC Sensor racks totaling 96 fully dimmable circuits. House and non-dim controls are housed in a Paradigm Architectural Control Center and is fully integrated with the house system.
  • Patch control is computerized. Headset stations are available.
  • All lighting positions require 2-pin and Ground 20 amp connectors.
  • All electric trusses have two schedule 80 pipes. Instruments can be double hung (above and below the wireway) if desired. Trim height is no greater than 20’
  • Balcony rail lighting is approximately 60' (20m) from the plaster line.  Four circuits are available to feed six (6) PAR 56 units, used as curtain warmers. Dimmers 15-18
  • Ceiling ports, approximate 40' (13m) from plaster line, Dimmers 1 – 14 with dimmer 1 repeating on the stage left and right pipe ends and dimmer 8 repeating at the center
  • First Electric: 3' 8" (1.2m) upstage of plaster line. 11 twenty amp circuits on 1'6" (.5m) centers. Can be flown to floor. Dimmers 19 - 29
  • Second Electric: 10' 6" (3.6m) upstage of plaster line. 11 twenty amp circuits. Can be flown to floor. Dimmers 30 - 40
  • Soft Electric: 15’ 10” upstage of the midstage traveler. 12 twenty amp circuits. Can be flown to the floor. Dimmers 63-74
  • Third Electric: 21' 3" (7m) upstage of plaster line. 3 11 twenty amp circuits. Can be flown to floor. Dimmers 41 - 51
  • Fourth Electric: 29' (9.5m) upstage of plaster line. 5 11 twenty amp circuits. Prehung with five Altman three-bay cyc strips. Dimmers 52 – 62
  • Floor pockets: Three positions on each side, under 1st, 2nd and 3rd electrics, paired circuits in each pocket. Dimmers 75 – 80
  • Circuits for future boxboom positions mid house. Dimmers 81-86 and 87-92
  • Pit circuits, 4 available Dimmers 93-96. Are paired with the wall pockets stage right and left proscenium.
  • Eight pipes (trees) available for sidelighting on stage. No boxbooms or diagonals in house.

Cable:

Kenan Auditorium does not provide cable for the installation of your rental package. All feeder cable, and tapping Ts for the purpose of utilizing any portable dimmer racks, including those owned and retained by Kenan Auditorium, must be provided by the renter. All stage pin jumpers, twofers and adapters must also be provided for by the renter for the installation of your rental package.

All DMX required for portable racks is also required to be provided by the renter

Gels and Templates:

The Kenan Auditorium does not supply color media or template patterns (gobos/cookies). Being a state agency in a town with no theatrical supply house, purchasing and receiving these items requires an average of three weeks.

Seven (6) ClearCom belt packs are available. Telephones are located SR, SL, and in the control booth.

Piano Garage:

Accoustical Shells

Accoustical shells nest at the back wall opposite the piano garage and although can be moved, must be stored in the theatre space. They also allow for only an 11” crossover on the stage left side.

Auditorium Seating:

  • Orchestra capacity: 728, including 11 removable seats for wheel chair accommodations and 10 ADA-approved slide in seats.
  • Balcony capacity: 286. (Balcony is not wheel chair accessible)
