Q. How much does it cost to rent UNCW Kenan Auditorium?
A. UNCW Kenan Auditorium does not work on a flat rate. The fee schedule will indicate the various costs for rent, staff, ticketing and parking.

Q. Is a deposit required and how much is it?
A. Yes. Kenan Auditorium requires a nonrefundable deposit in the amount of 50% of projected costs. Deposits will not be accepted without a signed contract.
Q. Will I receive confirmation of my reserved date?
A. Yes. You will receive confirmation via email for all reservation holds and confirmed date(s) from UNCW Kenan Auditorium Operations Manager Jeremy Summers.
Q. I need to cancel my reservation/event. What do I do?

Q. Can I arrive early to set up?
A. No. You are expected to arrive at the time indicated as "KA Client/Renter arrival time" on your contract. Call time for the crew is generally one hour prior to your arrival. The crew/staff need time in the space to prepare for your specific event/show. They cannot complete necessary tasks with you there. You will not be allowed entry into the building until your designated time. If you need more time to set up than you have contracted please contact Kenan Auditorium Operations Manager Jeremy Summers to reschedule your arrival time.
Q. Does Kenan Auditorium provide all sound and lighting equipment?
A. Kenan Auditorium has state of the art audio, video and lighting that is included in the rental cost. If you have specific equipment needs not found in our inventory you will need to hire it out. Kenan Auditorium tech inventory.
Q. I need to show a video. What format does Kenan Auditorium support?
A. Kenan Auditorium can support Blu-ray, DVD, PC based formats. We do not have mac computers. You may bring your own mac with appropriate VGA adaptor.
Q. Can I bring my show music on an Ipod/MP3 player?
A. Yes. You must have all audio in show order and edited for play.
Q. Will Kenan staff edit or produce the media for my show?
A. No. All media needs to be show ready on a format compatible with venues equipment.
Q. Our Music is on 10 different CD's and 2 songs are on an Ipod. Can we just give them to the sound guy before the show?
A. No. All media needs to be compiled to one format (CD/MP3/Ipod/PC) edited for play and in show order.
Q. Who will be there to assist when we arrive?
A. Technical Director Tara Noland and the assigned crew will be on stage ready to assist.
Q. Can we have specific sound and lighting cues for our show?
A. Yes. It will be necessary to have rehearsal time for sound and light cues.
Q. Will Kenan record my performance for me?
A. No. Kenan Auditorium is not equipped to record audio or video for its clients.
Q. Does Kenan Auditorium have staff/tech crew?
A. Yes. All tech, house and box office staff are arranged by Kenan Auditorium.
Q. Do I have to use Kenan Auditorium staff/crew?
A. Yes. However, show specific staff may be augmented with renters' volunteers or company staff with approval and coordination from Kenan Auditorium Operations Manager.
Q. Can we sell snacks and drinks in the lobby?
A. No. Food and beverages are not allowed in Kenan Auditorium. Food and beverages may not be sold in the lobby, on the portico or on the sidewalks adjacent to the Auditorium.
Q. Can we bring lunch/dinner in for the cast?
A. Yes. Craft Services and Hospitality for cast/crew are permitted back stage only. Food and beverages are prohibited in the audience area and lobby at all times.
Q. Do I need parking staff?
A. Yes. Unless the expected attendance will be less than 100.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. The renters cost is relative to the number of parking attendants the event requires. That number is predetermined by UNCW Auxiliary Services and dependent on the event attendance. Costs range from $ 108.00 to $276.00 per event. A parking facilities fee is charged to external renters in the amount of $100.00 in addition to the parking attendant rate.
Q. Do patrons have to pay to park?
A. No. Patrons do not pay to park.
Q. Who do I contact to setup my tickets?

Q. Can I print my own tickets?
A. No. All tickets must be printed through the Kenan Auditorium Box Office, but may be sold by other outlets if you prefer. In such cases, Kenan Auditorium will not charge the commission fee for tickets sold off-site. Kenan Auditorium will not be responsible for tracking any sales made off-site.
Q. How much does it cost? What are the fees involved?
A. The box office fees that renters are responsible for are:
- Ticket setup = $35 per event, or $100 per series, whichever is less.
- Ticket printing (for non-sold "comp" tickets) = .20 cents per ticket
- Commission (for tickets sold via KABO) varies by organization.
- External non-profit organization -$2.00/ticket sold, includes printing fee
- External for-profit organization -$2.50/ticket sold, includes printing fee
- UNCW organizations - $1.50/ticket sold, includes printing fee
- 2.8% fee for all purchases made with Visa/MC
Q. How is sales tax handled?
A. You have the option to have tax included in your ticket price (recommended*), or added to the ticket price. We will handle the reporting of sales tax to the NC Department of Revenue. *if tax is included in the ticket price, patrons are less surprised by the cost, and at-door sales move much faster.
Q. What does the ticket sales commission fee cover?
A. Kenan Auditorium Box Office is staffed Monday - Friday from 12noon until 6pm to answer phone calls, and process mail orders and in-person sales. For most events we collect as much patron information as is feasible, and can upon request provide a report of ticket holder contact information that will help in future marketing. Commission fee covers these services.
Q. How soon can I get my tickets?
A. Once we have received a signed contract you may set up your ticketing options with the box office. The turnaround is typically a couple of days, but not more than a week.
Q. Will my tickets be available online?
A. In most cases tickets can be made available online. If applicable, we can provide you with a link to online sales for use with websites and social media.
Q. Can I get daily Box Office sales reports?
A. Yes. Automated snapshot reports can be delivered to up to 10 email addresses of your choosing. These reports are delivered at 5am daily. Speak to the Box Office Manager to make arrangements.
Q. Does Kenan Auditorium payout at the end of the show?
A. No. Receipts for cash, credit card and check sales are deposited at the end of each business day into a University Trust Fund. A University check will be issued within thirty (30) days of the last performance in the amount of gross sales, less expenses, based on the Box Office final report for ticket sales.
Q. When will I receive an invoice for my event/show?
A. Typically within one week of event date completion, but no later than 30 days.

Q. Can I pay my deposit/invoice with a credit card?
A. At this time Kenan Auditorium does not accept credit card payments for deposits or invoices.
Q. Can Kenan make the check out to my promoter/partner instead of me?
A. Checks will be made payable to the contact/signee on the contract. No exceptions.
