UNCW Department of Theatre Honored with Wilmington Theater Award Nominations

Students, faculty and guest artists with the UNCW Department of Theatre earned nine Wilmington Theater Award nominations, including nods for best director, best actor, best supporting actor and actress and best production design.
"We are proud of our students, faculty and guest artists who have been recognized for their work,” said Andrew Belser, department chair. “We are delighted to be a part of the thriving and vital Wilmington theatre community."
The nominees from UNCW are:
BEST DIRECTOR, PLAY
Ed Wagenseller, "Six Degrees of Separation," UNCW Department of Theatre
BEST ACTOR, PLAY
Tre Cotten as Paul in "Six Degrees of Separation," UNCW Department of Theatre
Cullen Moss as Roy Cohn in "Angels in America," UNCW Department of Theatre
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR, MUSICAL
Tre Cotten (alum) as Harpo in "The Color Purple," City Stage
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS, PLAY
Lauren Berg as Laura Wingfield in "The Glass Menagerie," UNCW Department of Theatre
BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN (set design, lighting, sound, costumes, music direction, choreography, etc.)
"Margo Veil," UNCW Department of Theatre
PRE-SHOW AWARDS
These awards will be announced prior to the awards ceremony and printed in the ceremony program; winners will be acknowledged during the show.

StarNews Media, in association with Thalian Hall and with support from the Thalian Association and the Theatre Network of Wilmington, is hosting the Wilmington Theater Awards. Members of the general public are invited to vote on the nominees through Dec. 16 at www.StarNewsOnline.com/TheaterVote. Presentations will take place Jan. 9, 2013, at Thalian Hall.
