UNCW continues to monitor Hurricane Cristobal as it makes it way well east of the United States coast. Based on the latest information about the storm track, the university does not intend to take any emergency protective actions regarding this storm at this time.

UNCW continually monitors for tropical weather threats during hurricane season and is in constant contact with the National Weather Service throughout the calendar year. The Atlantic hurricane season lasts from June 1 to November 30 each year.

There is a risk of rip currents until Cristobal passes. Please see http://www.weather.gov/ilm/beachrip for updated rip current forecasts.

Please contact the UNCW Environmental Health and Safety Department at 910.962.3057 with any questions.
