Wednesday, April 23, 2014

On the morning of April 23, students, teachers and Principal Cindy Talbert from Snipes Academy of Art and Design visited Kenan House. Georgia Miller, wife of UNCW Chancellor Gary Miller, hosted the event to honor the top students from Snipes Academy.

Guests enjoyed refreshments and a presentation from UNCW students Sarah Bentil-Owusu and Brandon Barfield, who spoke about their personal experiences and the importance of education. A research poster by Bentil-Owusu, an honors student, and a painting by Barfield, a studio art major, were on display for guests to enjoy.

The Snipes Academy of Arts and Design serves students kindergarten through grade five. The academy supports a range of student programs in art, music, dance, drama and physical education.
