Registration Open for College Day on Nov. 2

The UNCW College of Arts and Sciences will hold its 12th annual College Day on Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event, a collaboration with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), promotes life-long learning by offering classes to the community in the liberal arts. Classes will meet in several locations on campus. There is a fee of $35 for OLLI members and $45 for nonmembers. Registration is open through Oct. 25.
Participants will experience a day in the life of a student by attending four classes in the humanities, the arts, the sciences and social sciences on UNCW’s artfully-designed campus. A mid-day lunch break is included in the cost of attendance.
Class topics are derived from of a broad range of subjects, including: English, marine biology, foreign languages, mathematics and statistics and creative writing, just to name a few. Topics include titles such as “History, Ethics, and The Holocaust in Nathan Englander's New Short Stories,” “High Resolution Observations of Balloon-Aerial Photography,” “What Was the Holy Roman Empire (and Why Do We Care)?,” “The Science of Positive Emotions and the Meaning of Life,” and “Like a Rolling Stone: The Art of Lithography.”
