Charles Hardy Nominated for Health Care Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award
Charles Hardy, professor and founding Dean of the UNCW College of Health and Human Services, has been nominated for a Health Care Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award. Hardy will be recognized on Nov. 16 during a special reception at the Cape Fear Community College’s Union Station Building, in which the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced along with those in nine additional categories.
School of Health and Applied Human Science’s Associate Professor Dan Johnson will also receive recognition as a nominee for a Community Achievement Award for his work with Access of Wilmington.
“It is an honor to be recognized and be among such talented company,” said Hardy. “This nomination is a tribute to the faculty, staff and students in the College of Health and Human Services and the UNCW community. I am privileged to be a member of the team that is committed to enhancing the health and quality of life of individuals, families and communities in Southeastern North Carolina and beyond.”
Health Care Heroes is an annual celebration to bring together the Wilmington-area medical community and its supporters. The goal is to give members of the health community a chance to connect, celebrate individuals who go well beyond expectations to provide excellent care and award scholarships to up-and-coming members of the health care community.
