Kubasko Receives Summer Biotechnology Workshop Grant

Dennis Kubasko was recently awarded $25,220 for the “Introductory Biotechnology Workshop for High School Teachers” by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.  Kubasko, Associate Professor of Science Education and Director of CESTEM, co-wrote the grant with Joseph Covi, Biology and Marine Biology, and Christopher Gordon, Watson College of Education and Assistant Director of CESTEM.

The introductory biotechnology workshop showed North Carolina high school teachers how to effectively implement fundamental scientific content, practice classroom lab management and laboratory safety practices while conducting hands-on lab experiments and classroom activities that reinforce important science concepts.
