Grow it Your Way - Make a Difference

Friday, March 08, 2013

Recently, the UNCW Student Ambassadors, Sammy Seahawk and PHIL visited several departments on campus to recognize their leadership in the 2012-2013 “Grow it your way” Faculty-Staff Campaign. The group visited departments that currently have 60 percent or greater participation in this year’s campaign as part of National Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day, hosted by The Council for Advancement and Support of Education Affiliated Student Advancement Programs.

PHIL is the face of UNCW’s student philanthropy program and represents thousands of donors, including faculty and staff, who give to UNCW each year.  PHIL plays an important role in the journey of learning for students as he symbolizes the importance of giving back to one’s university.  These visits gave students the opportunity to put a face to PHIL’s name and personally thank faculty and staff donors.
