Wilmington, N.C.- UNC Wilmington hosts the 11th annual College Day on Oct. 27, 2012, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Warwick Center.

The College of Arts and Sciences at UNCW is hosting College Day jointly with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. OLLI provides innovative adult education for those 50 and older to promote continued intellectual and social growth for diverse audiences.

College Day offers community residents an opportunity to participate in the day of a life of a UNCW student. Registration for OLLI members is $35 and for non-members is $45. Fees include breakfast, lunch and four classes taught by UNCW faculty.  Registration deadline is Oct. 22, 2012. For more information on registration and classes offered, visit http://uncw.edu/olli/.

Classes from every discipline in the College of Arts and Sciences will be offered, including: history, communication studies, creative writing, philosophy and religion, music, science and psychology.

"College Day provides a unique opportunity for older individuals in the community to experience what it's like to be an undergraduate student," says Associate Dean Kathleen Berkeley of the College of Arts and Sciences. "College Day faculty are from 22 different departments across the natural and social sciences, the humanities, and the fine arts in the College of Arts and Sciences, and they're excited to share their fields of study with our neighbors in the community."
