How does the Alumni Association serve alumni?

The UNCW Alumni Association strives to be the lead supporter in the University's strategic vision. It is our purpose to connect and involve alumni, students, and friends in the promotion and advancement of the University.  The UNCW Alumni Association promotes, encourages and supports unity and involvement among our alumni, students, the university and friends.

How can I receive information about upcoming UNCW alumni events in my area?
Make sure we have your updated contact information by submitting it HERE. Events are advertised on FACEBOOK, in the UNCW Magazine, through emails and mailed invitations, and on the Events Calendar.

Does the Alumni Association have a membership fee?

The Alumni Association does not have a membership fee. The benefits of the Alumni Association are received by virtue of being a UNCW alumnus or alumna. However, active status in the Alumni Association helps you to stay connected and build a lasting relationship with your alma mater. Alumni are recognized as "active" when they have made an annual contribution to UNCW. Showing support of your alma mater is an important part of succesfully growing of the university and therefore increasing the value of your degree!

What does my donation to the UNCW Alumni Association support?
The Association uses financial support to grow endowments for the student scholarships awarded each year. Funds are also needed to host events and undertake new initiatives that connect fellow alumni. If you would like to donate, please visit the online giving website.

What other ways can I be involved with the Alumni Association?
Those alumni who are involved show pride in UNCW. You could volunteer with events, join a chapter, or apply to join the Board of Directors. Your level of involvement is up to you! More about how you can volunteer.

Is there a UNCW email address for alumni?
The Alumni Relations staff is working on options to create alumni email addresses for all alumni. Currently this is not an option for the almost 50,000 UNCW alumni across the globe. We have piloted a new program with the recent graduates and are testing its capabilities to utilize the service for all alumni in the future.

How can I get on the UNCW Network on Facebook?
With the surge of support for the UNCW Alumni Facebook page has come many questions about adding a UNCW network for someone who does not have a UNCW email address. The information for Facebook networks can be found HERE. It is accurate that you are not able to set up a University network without a valid email address and this is for the protection of those in a network. Fortunately, if UNCW is listed in your school experience or somewhere in your profile, your information will still be available to those searching for others linked to UNCW.
