Meet Our Staff

Jon Kapell, Director for Campus Activities & Involvement Jon supervises the Campus Activities & Involvement Center professional staff in their support roles for the SGA and student organizations. He also is responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the Events Calendar Assistant and the Posting Assistant. In addition, he advises the Student Government Association, coordinates and implements the UNCWelcome Program, and oversees the UNCWeekends initiative with a student group along with other staff in the division. Jon presents various workshops for the Organizational Leadership certificate and he serves on the campus as a UNCW Safe Zone trained Ally. |

Stacey Baisden, Assistant Director for Campus Activities & Involvement Stacey oversees 245+ registered student organizations and the management of the Involvement Center. She supervises the Service Area Manager and the Involvement Specialists within the Involvement Center. She also is responsible for maintaining a smooth running office operation for the CAIC. She is responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating Office Assistants. In addition, she is responsible for monitoring budget, and managing program files. She coordinates the annual campus wide events: Involvement Carnivals/Fairs, Student Organization Leadership Conference, UNCWelcome Back, Student Organization Leadership Awards, re-registration seminars, annual registration process for all student organizations, Piece of CAIC Award program, and Student Organization Appreciation Day. She also serves as the primary advisor to the SGA Treasurer and the Appropriations Council in their allocation processes. |

CAIC Graduate Assistant The CAIC Graduate Assistant will advise and manage the UNCWeekends planning group inclusive of event planning, implementation and management, coordinate social media on behalf of CAIC and provide oversight for the CAIC website. This position will also provide support for CAIC’s major campus events alongside the CAIC full time staff as needed and appropriate. |

Stefanie Mancuso, Program Coordinator/ACE Advisor Stefanie advises the student-run program board, Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE), and its executive board and committees: Spirit, Concerts, Comedy, Creative Promotions, Voice, and Films. She also coordinates and implements major campus events such as Midnite Madness, Homecoming, and Summer at the Dub with other UNCW staff and students. |

Kahlin McKeown, Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life Kahlin serves as the primary liaison between the university and our Greek letter social organizations, including Panhellenic Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Interfraternity Council. She is the advisor for Order of Omega and advises fraternity and sorority leaders in programming, budgeting, academic success strategies, membership recruitment and interpretation of policies and provides workshops, retreats, programs and seminars on relevant topics for the organizations. She is also responsible for coordinating the Greek Housing Program in collaboration with Housing and Residence Life. |

Tina Riley, Fiscal Assistant Tina processes financial transactions for Campus Activities, SGA, Student Organizations and Student Media. She is an assistant to the University Union Budget Manager. |

Stephanie Dibenedetto, Cathy Jordan, and Matt Onley, Office Assistants The Office Assistants assists in typing office correspondence and forms, checks mailbox and distribute mail to office staff and Involvement Center, sends faxes and distribute received faxes to office staff, inventory supplies and keep a bi-weekly updated list of supplies to be ordered, keeps the color printer paper and forms stocked, assist the CAIC professional staff in program file management and other special projects creates and updates display cases in the Fisher Student Center, second floor, runs any needed errands for the office, installs CAIC Event Calendars in the Fisher restrooms, and organizes storage room and check for supplies needed. |

Kenny Gilliard, Events Calendar Assistant The Events Calendar Assistant is responsible for creating and editing the weekly CAIC events calendar that gets posted throughout UNCW. |

Dan Shea, Posting Assistant The Posting Assistant ensures thorough and timely distribution of CAIC publicity. The Posting Assistant monitors and maintains campus-wide CAIC bulletin boards located in most academic and administrative buildings. |

Sarah Cox, Involvement Center Service Area Manager (SAM) Sarah is a Resident Assistant (RA) in Seahawk Landing, a general member of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), and a student representative for the Student Organization Committee (SOC). |
