UNCW Monitoring Possible Tropical System in the Atlantic

UNCW, in collaboration with the National Weather Service, New Hanover County and other campus and community partners, is monitoring a developing weather system in the Atlantic that has the potential to become a tropical storm. Updates will be provided as conditions warrant. At this time, no changes are planned to the university’s operating schedule. Dangerous rip currents, heavy rain and flooding in low-lying and coastal areas are possible over the next few days as the storm approaches. Be advised that rip currents are likely to affect the Cape Fear coast whether or not the storm makes landfall nearby.
